His [John Mott] wife has not been identified. The parish records of Saffron Walden contain entries for the burial of Elizabeth, wife of John Mott, 2 Jan. 1610/1, burial of Catherine, wife of John Mott, 4 May 1619, burial of Ann, daughter of John Mott, 2 Jan. 1616/7, and baptism of Esther, daughter of John and Mary Mott, 29 Sept. 1625. His son Adam had a daughter Elizabeth, but this is a most common name.
