Truman was believed to be born on St Francios County, Missouri. Very little is know about his younger years. His father died when he was about four. His mother remarried soon after her second husband's death and Truman was sent to a St. Louis, Missouri orphanage. At the age of eight he was moved to Kentucky to live with foster parents. The reasons are unknown as to why he was sent back to the orphanage but he did not want to return so he ran away and began living the life of a hobo.
