    Tru Letha Kopsas, 82, of Merlin, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Southern Oregon Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

    Kopsas was born Dec. 29, 1919, in Kalispell, Mont. She moved to Oregon in 1951. Thirty-three years ago, in Grants Pass, she married Ralph N. Kopsas, who died Sept. 14, 1998. He worked as a reporter and photographer for the Daily Courier and the Illinois Valley News. Prior to her retirement, she worked for Diamond Industries.

    She was a member of the Serenaders, the Old Time Fiddlers, and the Eagles and Elks lodges. She enjoyed flower gardening, photography, music, and her friends.

    Survivors include a son, Alfred E. Kamps of Reno; three daughters, Tru Mary Kamps of Missoula, Mont., LaVeeta J. Bailey of Medford, and Nellie I. Wildey of Grants Pass; two sisters, LaVeeta Carlock of California, and LaRita Macioroski of Glen, Mont.; a brother, Alton Crossley of Butte, Mont.; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A son, James "Doc" Cooke, died before her.
