Facts and Events
Name[1] Thomasine Carpenter
Gender Female
Birth? Est 1600
Marriage 8 Aug 1619 Taunton, Somerset, EnglandSt Mary Magdalene
to Edward Webber

The only evidence for this person appears to be the IGI records of her marriage to Edward Webber in 1619. Some have connected her to the "Tomazin Carpenter" who enrolled as a passenger for New England in 1635 (see Great Migration), but that implies that she was using her maiden name some 16 years after her marriage, which seems unlikely. There is no reason to connect these 2 women, except for the coincidence that at some point in their lives (before marriage for one and possibly after marriage for the other) their names were the same, and they were likely born within a few years of each other.

Some, having confused her with the 1635 emigrant, have attempted to tie her to New England immigrant William Carpenter. There is no basis for assuming that she was his sister, cousin or other near relative. It is also highly unlikely that she was a child of William Carpenter and Mary Bath, who were married in 1605. Therefore, until more research is done, she cannot be connected to any individual other than her husband Edward Webber.
