Lebam Graduating Class 1930 (as listed in the Pacific County Children’s Census) (lists brother Cecil. Thurston was 2 years younger, so probably graduated in 1932.

Interview with Evelyn Francis Morrow, wife of Thurston L. Willis, about Chritsmas, 1993, not long after T.L.'s death.

"T.L was staying with Callie Willis just before she split with Londy. He graduated from High School in 1931, and went east to to visit with family in Virginia in the summer and fall of that year. He hung out with his cousins Norma, Ruby, Barlow, and Thelma. Normal eaventually married Lester Stoval. Theylived near Princeton WV in a log house up on top of a hill up a hollow. After his return to Washington he went into the CCC in '32/'33. He joined the Coast Guard after that. Eventually, he went to Norfolk for Engineering School. He must have gone by way of Detroit, as he picked up a new car, a Plymouth. When war broke out in 1941 he still had it, and that's the car he courted me in."
