Thomas Willcox of Exeter, yeoman. Will dated 20 Mar 1788, proved 5 May 1788, pps. 59-62.
Wife Susannah.
Unnamed deceased daughter mother of Hoxsie grandson and Hoxsie granddaughters. (Mr. Hoxsie appears to be living since grandson Thomas Hoxsie received a chain which is at his father's & granddaughter Elizabeth Hoxsie has the promise of future from her father.)
4 grandchildren: Susannah Willcox, Elisabeth Hoxsie, Thomas Hoxsie and Anna Hoxsie -- if any of these grandchildren should die & leave no lawful issue, estate to be equally divided amongst the other surviving grandchildren. My above mentioned grandchildren have liberty to live with their grandmother on the profits of my land if they have a mind to so long as they remain singe. The reason of my not giving my granddaughter Anna Hoxsie a side saddle & case of drawers is because she has got them that was her mother's.
My 2 brothers: Elijah Willcox and Noah Willcox received my right in a saw mill in South Kingstown.
Witnesses: George Sunderlin, James Barber and Oliver Willcox.
Immediately below in different ink on p. 62 is: "Smyrna County of Chenango State of New York Aug. 29 on settlement of Legacies of the within will we the within Named Heirs have Received our Legacies in full -
Thomas Hoxsie, Susanna Willcox, Elisabeth Shearman, Anna Willcox, Robert H. Willcox, Palmer Shearman, Lillibridge Willcox." Recorded 23 Sep 1820.
