"Fam. 2. Cornet Thomas (Wickham),2 Jr., (Thomas,1), b. 1651; … Cornet Thomas, held lds. in Eastbury, in 1673 and prob. res. on the Glastonbury side of the original town of Weth. (See Glast. Centenn. p. 47) and Chapt. VII, Vol. I, of this History. His gravestone in the old cemetery at Weth. reads thus, 'Here lieth the body of Mr. Thomas Wickham, Cornit of the Troop, who departed this life April the 30th, 1730, in the 79 year of his age.' Invt. of personal estate £61-07-02, taken by Martin Kellogg, Joseph Woodhouse, Court Record. 2 June, 1730. Adm. to Gideon Wickham of Southhold in the Province of N. Y. on the Island of Nassau, 16 June, 1730, Gideon Wickham Adms. Exhibits account, was discharged from his bond and Adm. granted to Benjamin Deming of Wethersfield."

"Wickham, Cornet, Thomas, (s. Thomas, the Settler and Sarah) b. 1648, was a 'cordwainer'; constable, 1677; in 1683 the Town gave him ld. by the River (now the Cove) to set a 'shop' upon; he was leather sealer, 1715; his dwell-ho. was of brick, and must have been one of the earliest brick houses in Weth.; he mentions it in 1715, but when it was erected does not appear; prob in 1673. His shop and wareho. were near it, on the N. and W. side of High St. Common; he was a lieut. and a cornet of the Htfd. Co. troop (dragoons) and did good service in the Ind. and Fr. campaign."
