Thomas4 (Waterbury), b. 4 Aug. 17__; m. 21 Apr. 1753, Mary Brown, b. 28 Jan. 1731/2, dau. of Jonathan and Mary (Slauson). It is unfortunate that the year date of birth of Thomas is gone from the record, which calls him son of Thomas and Elizabeth. If that means he was by the first wife, he must have been born 1716, and that makes him over 35 at marriage. If he was a son by the unknown second wife, then her name too must have been Elizabeth.

  2. The elapsed time between the marriage of Thomas Waterbury and Elizabeth Holly and the birth of their daughter Elizabeth was one year, five months and twenty-five days. Unless the son Thomas was conceived prior to the marriage, that would seem to indicate that there was insufficient time for them to have had the second child implying, in turn, that Thomas must have been by the second wife, Elizabeth (Gibbs) (Bordman) Waterbury.
