The descent from this Thomas through John is not proven. Also, I have not yet been able to tie Thomas in with the other Stanton family in this database.

Some researchers say this Thomas is the man who married Thankful Denison. That man did have a duaghter named Prudence, but she married Giles Russell and did not have a brother John.

One researcher says this Thomas was b. 7 Apr 1708 in Groton. Married 20 Mar 1732 Lucy Bailey and had a child Thomas b.14 Jan 1745. The researcher shows a second marriage for Thomas, with a spouse b. 1715 and a marriage date of 1735. This unnamed spouse is supposedly Prudence Stanton's mother. Thomas is indentified as a son of John Stanton and Ann Huchison, and grandson of Thomas Stanton and Sarah Denison. I have information on Thomas and Sarah - I do not show a son named John for them.

Another researcher has Lucy Bailey, b. 10 May 1712 married to Thomas Stanton, b. 7 Apr in Groton, with child Prudence, b. 1734 in Groton. This Lucy's parents were Thomas Bailey and Jane Wilba, who married 13 June 1711.
