From Donald Sill: Although it appeared that the Snedekers were "wealthy" compared to the Curtis family, it may just be relative. Mary and Thomas Snedeker did not own their home. He worked as a stereotyper for the Journal American Newspaper until he was mugged in 1922 and crippled for the rest of his life.

Thomas immigrated from England and married Mary Ann Charles in New York.
