  5. was a blacksmith and then in the lumber business some twenty-three years. He built a beautiful home with Vermont white marble grate and jams. He lost his house as he was obliged to pay for a mill he rented that was destroyed by fire. Moved to Paradox, New York for a few years
  6. where he built of good house worth, at the time, between five and six thousand dollars. The house was still standing in 1961.
