    Andrew Patterson was born 1784 in Virginia. Listed in GUARDIAN BONDS, Washington Co, VA 1780-1872. February 21, 1804 John EDMONDSON named guardian of Andrew PATTERSON orphan of William PATTERSON, deceased. Andrew died June 19, 1862 in Washington County, Va. He married September 6, 1814 in Washington County, VA, Elizabeth COLE, daughter of Sampson COLE and Lydia WHEELER. Andrew PATTERSON was a minister. The house his slaves built, brick by brick, from materials on his land, is still standing and a descendant resides there. Andrew and Elizabeth had two sons, Thomas E., Sampson C., and five daughters, Elizabeth (Eliza), Lydia, Eleanor, Ann and Martha PATTERSON.
