He married September 6, 1814 in Washington County, VA, Elizabeth COLE, daughter of Sampson COLE and Lydia WHEELER. Andrew PATTERSON was a minister. The house his slaves built, brick by brick, from materials on his land, is still standing and a descendant resides there. Andrew and Elizabeth had two sons, Thomas E., Sampson C., and five daughters, Elizabeth (Eliza), Lydia, Eleanor, Ann and Martha PATTERSON.
