According to his 15 April 1937 obituary in The Record Herald in Greensburg, Kentucky, Thomas and Louetta had four children. Two of them died in infancy and two survived. The obituary states that Thomas is the son of John Brown and Bettie Jane Chadouin Osborn, and then later states that he was survived by a stepmother, "Jane Osborne". The stepmother referred to is Sarah Jane (Elmore) Osborn.

Oddly, Thomas' obituary is one of the few written references I can find regarding the fact that Thomas' father, John B. Osborn, had twin daughters Lizzie and Anna Osborn. The obit states that Thomas was survived by three half-sisters, two of which were Lizzie (Osborn) Shelton, and Annie (Osborn) Thomas.

   of publication visible. The date of birth was barely legible and
   although I am sure the month listed was March, the date was hard to
   read. It was definately listed as 186x, but the last number was very
   hard to read.
