Knowles, Thomas. Took the oath of fidelity, New Haven, July 1644. He and "Goody" Knowles had seats in the meeting-house, Mar. 1646/7. He died between Feb. and May 1648, his widow being referred to the latter month as in need. Married Elizabeth, not dau. of Gov. Francis Newman. She was still a widow, Nov. 1649, but married (2) by 1650 Mr. Nicholas Knell, of Stratford. Eleazer and Thomas Knowles had land in Stratford by gift from father Nicholas Knell.
