    "8. Capt. Thomas4 Harrison (Thomas,3 Thomas,2 Richard1), born at Branford 12 Oct. 1694, died at Litchfield 16 June 1758. … In 1739 he removed from Branford to Litchfield, and bought 1000 acres of land at South Farms. He gave 100 acres to each of his nine sons, and retained 100 acres for himself. He was commissioned as captain of the North Company of the Branford trainband 13 May 1731, served in the First Connecticut Regiment in the war against France and Spain in 1739-40, was deputy to the General Court from Litchfield 2 May 1747, and was made justice of the peace for Hartford County 31 May 1750.
