Tom graduated with honors from St. Richard's Episcopal School and was graduated from Broad Ripple High School where he was active in music and sports. He was also a member of the Choir of Men and Boys Christ Church Cathedral. Upon completing his journalism degree from Indiana University, he accepted a position with a Reproduction Company in Westchester County, New York. Tom had just accepted a new position as an account executive in Traverse City, Michigan at the time of his death.
