Thomas Clark was a resident of Clarksburg, Ross County, Ohio at the time of his marriage. He had served in the War of 1812 with his brother Col. William Clark. He owned land in Fayette County, which he sold in 1815. He and Lucinda were amongst the first buyers of lots in the new town of Bloomington, in the newly formed county of Monroe, Indiana.
