Thomas2 Berry (Thadeus1) was born, probably at Rumney Marsh, on 20 September 1670 (Boston VRs). He died, probably at Rumney Marsh, before 3 September 1736, when his will was probated at Boston. He married at Lynn or Rumney Marsh, about 1693, Elizabeth Divan, born at Lynn, Mass., 3 November 1672, daughter of John, Jr. and Elizabeth Divan of Lynn (Lynn VRs; EIHC, VI [1842 (error for 1864)]:134. John Divan, Jr. bequeathed to his "son-in-law" Thomas Berry and his daughter Elizabeth all the house and lands, etc. and also to his grandson Divan Berry, son of his daughter Elizabeth Berry (Essex Probate, 309:196-7). Thomas Berry occupied the family homestead in Rumney Marsh all of his life, receiving by gift from his father in 1698 the southern half of the farm provided he care for his parents in their declining years.
