Thomas Berridge was born on 28th October 1793 and baptised two days later at Benefield in Northamptonshire, son of John and Mary Berridge. His mother died either giving birth to him or shortly afterwards; she was buried the same day he was baptised. Young Thomas did not long outlive his mother. He was buried a couple of weeks later.
