    THEODORE J. OLSON
    Theodore J. "Buddy" Olson of Eureka, former co-owner of Freeman's died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1987 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita after a lengthy illness. He was 56.
    The son of George J. and Ollie Brown Olson, Olson was born near Eureka on April 18, 1930. He attended Greenwood County schools and a 1948 graduate of Eureka High School.
    Olson served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954.
    Olson was a co-owner of Freeman's up until January 1986 and before that had worked for the previous owner, Ted Freeman, for several years. He was also a farmer and stockman.
    Olson was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and a past president of both the Eureka Lions Club and the Greenwood County Farm Bureau. He also belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2712 and had been on the Greenwood County Cattlemen's Association Board of Directors. Olson, who was well-known in the Upper Fall River community, had been a community leader for the Upper Fall River Jayhawkers 4-H Club and helped organize the Upper Fall River Rural Fire District. He also had been a secretary for a rural watershed district.
    Survivors are Olson's wife, Joan of the home; a stepson, Alan Christman, ElDorado, a daughter, Kris LeVieux, and her husband, Jim, Eureka; two granddaughters, Amantha and Shannon; his stepmother Beulah Olson, Eureka; a brother, Lyle, Eureka; a sister, Eleanor Adams, Beloit; and a step sister, Melba Sue Asher, Wichita.
    The funeral service was held the morning of Tuesday, January 13, 1987 at Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka. The Rev. Tim Carery, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiated. Interment was in Upper Fall River Cemetery northwest of here.
    A memorial has been established to Christ Lutheran Church.
