Virgil Allen papers say he was born in 1868; the estimated birth year per 1880 census is 1868; the 1900 census says Oct 1866 but is 32 years old. So Oct 1868 is the birthdate I have used.

Taylor and Ida had had no children by 1910; they had been married for 5 years.
