    The basis for the date of birth is not verifiable without access to the referenced Hiram Herrick papers. However, it is consistent with her having married prior to the birth of her eldest child, Benjamin, 17 April 1706.

    "9. Joseph3 Reed (Josiah2, William1 … called 'of Norwich' married thirdly in Preston on 13 December 1752 Tabitha Herrick of Preston. Joseph's wife was probably Tabitha (Hewitt) Herrick who was baptized as Tabitha Hewitt at Stonington First Church on 24 July 1792 [error for 1692]. Tabitha's parents were Benjamin and Marie (Fanning) Hewitt. Timothy Herrick of Preston married a woman named Tabitha prior to the birth of their first child in 1706. Timothy and Tabitha (Hewitt?) Herrick had eight children, born in Preston between 1706 and 1725: Benjamin, Desire, Thankful. Timothy, Robert. Waitstill, Israel and Silence. … Timothy Herrick … died in Preston prior to 12 June 1733 when his wife Tabitha, administrator of his estate, presented his inventory to the probate court. Tabitha Herrick was admitted to the Griswold First Congregational Church in Preston on 10 June 1722. Tabitha Reed, 'wife of brother Joseph Reed,' was admitted to the Newent Congregational Church in Norwich in 1758 from the 'Preston Second Church.' Tabitha Herrick made her will in Preston on 10 October 1748. 'Tabatha Reed' died probably in Norwich on 19 December 1760. Her will was allowed by the probate court on 14 January 1761."
