In Milton, Wis., December 28, 1861, of jaundice, Sylvanus C. Maxson, son of Dea. Joshua B. Maxson, of Stephentown, N. Y., in the 45th year of his age. Bro. Maxson professed faith in Christ in 1837, and in 1847 removed to Alfred, N. Y., where he united with the Second Seventh-day Baptist Church in that place. He removed to Milton, Wis., in 1854, where he united with the church, of which he remained a member until he quietly yielded up his spirit to God who gave it, "knowing in whom he had believed." He left a wife and two children, with a large circle of connections and friends, to mourn their loss. "Man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets." O. P. H.
