Susan is believed to have been a widow of a Pike.

1850 census, Alamance County, North Carolina: Susan Shoffer, age 56 Aneous, male, 19 Temana, male, 15

Aneas and Tetman's wills both say mother was Susan Davison. However, Shoffner family histories say she was a widow Susan Troxler Pike. Frederick's will instructs the sale of 'the Troxler Plase'. Why? unless he owned it by marriage to Troxler widow. Samuel Pike's wife was named Susanna Davison, but there are inconsistancies (censuses in years after he was supposed to be dead etc)
