"The will of George (Downing's) second wife, Susan Downing of Norwich, widow, was dated 22 November 1624 and proved on 22 May 1625. She named many relatives, among them her brother William Sotherton. Her children were Edward Pye, Henrie Pye of London, Hester Throckmorton, Anne Rushbrooke wife of Thomas Rushbrooke, George Downing, Margaret Debney wife of Robert Debney, and John Pye deceased. She also named many grandchildren. Relatives of her husband she described as; George Downing son of Edward Downing late of Thetford deceased, my late husband's niece the wife of Lincoln [sic], my late husband's niece Anne the daughter of Mortmayne of Bungay."[1]
