Information from Green-Wood Cemetery: On the day of burial, the family purchased Grave 1069 in Public Lot 2458. It cost approximately $10.00. In 2013 dollars that would equal approximately $303.03. The family did not purchase a private lot at this time. However, James Taber purchased Lot 16895 in 1866. Also interred in Grave 1069, daughter, Eliza Taber Linthwaite and son-in-law, Thomas Linthwaite. The cost of opening a grave for an interment was $3.00, thus the cost of interring Eliza and Thomas in 2013 dollars would be approximately $83.33 each.
