  3.   On p. 298 of Source:Mitchell, Nahum. History of the Early Settlement of Bridgewater, in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, it notes a marriage of Stephen Richardson to Ruth, d/o Benjamin Johnson. This is not to be found in Source:Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States. Vital Records of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, to the Year 1850, while the one mentioned in Vinton is. Ruth Johnson was b. 1736, and was enough older that she is an improbable match for Stephen. No marriage is recorded in Bridgewater for any Ruth Johnson, though the intention of Stephen's brother Winslow's marriage to Ruth's sister Rhoda Johnson was recorded as Ruth. So Mitchell's remark must be an error resulting from misinterpreting that.
