Facts and Events
He was a soldier in the Revolution and was wounded at Groton Fort by a bayonet in his side and a blow upon the head. He went to Richmond, Mass., to the home of his uncle, Deacon James Gates. But little attention was paid to the wound on the head as it was not supposed to be so severe as that in his side, which was doing well. He was suddenly seized with delirium and died in a few hours from the effect of the wound on the head. He was unmarried.[1] References
