Civil War

Stephen A Dodge served in the 3rd Maine Infantry, Company D, during the Civil War. He enlisted as a private on 4 Jun 1861. He was 24. He was killed in Chantilly, VA during the Civil War.

Company A, and most of Company D, were members of the Bath City Grays, a pre-Civil War militia regiment. As a Woolwich resident, Stephen may not have been part of the militia, but he certainly knew many members of the regiment he joined.

See 3rd Maine Infantry Regiment (Civil War) for more information on the 3rd Maine Infantry.
