Person:Sophia Shipley (1)

This name was taken from Bible Extract of Roxie Billings daughter of William L. Calvert 1856 noted as "Elvira".

In the Shipley & Morrow Cemetery there are 2 "Crum" burials stating they are the children of H.L. and E..L. Crum. One child b. 1862 and one child born 1867. This notation is what was being used for the "L" in Elvira's middle name. However since that date we have found the probated will of William Shipley father of this child and her name is listed on the probate as "Sophia Elvira Crum". Name was changed to reflect this fact on 26 December 2001.

There is an "Alvira" Crum listed with Alfred Crum (Self) and family, in the 1880 census for Moreau, Moniteau Co., Missouri.  Film #1254704, page 403A.  No 'proof' at this time if this is our Sophia Elvira, but the birth year of about 1841 'fits' and her father is listed as being born in Virginia and mother in North Carolina which also 'fits' and I have found no other leads to Sophia with the 'CRUM' surname as of this date 13 April 2002
