Facts and Events
Solomon, named for his paternal grandfather, was a seaman aboard the clipper training ship 'George', known as the 'Salem School Ship', on its first voyage May 28, 1815. Solomon was put ashore at Calcutta, India, on September 26, 1815, due to illness, and there died before February 25, 1816." (Essex Institute Historical Collection, Vol. 59:1-4) His death was reported in the Newburyport Herald on 21 June 1816. References
