Newspaper published a list of people applying for licenses to sell intoxicating liquor, to be drunk on the premises. Solomon Lower was one of them. His location was in the southwest corner of Lot 53, which was the corner of Wabash and Market streets, in downtown Wabash. John Christman, also was applying for a license in the basement of the same building.
- Family notes per User:White Creek.
One of the reasons to believe that the DAVID B. LOWER family is a part of the large "Hirstein Lower" line, is that Solomon was enumerated in the Baker household in the 1860 census, age 21. Both of his parents had died young, and Rachael Baker was Rachael Smith, a daughter of Susanna (LOWER) Smith of rural Noble Township. We know Susanna's history, and that her father was Benjamin Lower, of Coshocton County (thus a "Hirstein Lower").
In the image of stones at Falls Cemetery, the tall one would seem to be of Solomon. It is badly weathered, but there is a military marker beside the stone.

- Solomon was a Private in the 53rd Regiment
- ↑ In the 1880 Census Emma, May, and Edward were enumerated.
