BIOGRAPHY: Silas Knight moved to Meigs County,,Ohio area in 1810, they settled in the Salisbury area. And are considered one of the early settlers.

230. Silas Knight was born on 21 May 1772 in Norwich, New London, CT and was christened in Jul 1772 in Hanover, New London, CT. He died on 31 Jul 1839 in Salisbury, Meigs, OH. He was sealed to his parents on 5 May 1973. Silas was baptized on 23 Oct 1894. He was endowed on 26 Oct 1894. Silas married Eunice Higley in 1796. They were sealed on 26 Oct 1894 in the M temple.   On the memorial of Samuel Lovett, as guardian to David Knight, Jonathan Knight, and Silas Knight, all of Norwich, shewing to this Assembly that the said David and Jonathan are twins in the seventh year of their age, and that the said Silas is in the fifth year of his age, and that neither of them have or ever had any estate except about three or four acres of land each that was set out to them in the division of the estate of their father, Mr. Benjamin Knight late of said Norwich, deceas'd, and that there has arisen necessary charges for their support since the decease of their said father over and above what was allowed by the judge of  probate to the widow of said deceas'd for bringing them up to the age of four years each, which has been considered and allowed by said judge as follows, viz: For keeping and supporting said Jonathan, 12 pounds 15  6, and for keeping and supporting said David 9 pounds 5 0, and for keeping and supporting said Silas 8 pound 0 0, which can no other ways be paid but by money raised by the sale of said lands, as appears by a certificate from the clerk of probates for the district of Norwich, and thereupon praying for liberty to sell so much of said lands as shall be sufficient to raise the sum or sums from each of them respectively due: Therefore resolved by this Assembly, that the memorialist have Liberty, and power and authority is hereby given to said  Samuel Loveitt, to sell so much of the lands of the said Jonathan as to raise the sum of 12 pound 15 6, and of the land of said David so much as to raise the sum of 9 pound 5 0, and of the land of said Silas so much as to raise the sum of 8 pound 0 0, with incident charges arising on such sale; taking the direction of the court of probate for the district of Norwich therein.
