[Sunderland records show Silas b. 3 Sep 1728 to Jonathan and Hannah and show Silas d. 15 Sep 1728 to Noah & Rebecca. No further evidence has been found to help decipher these record.
There are two ways to interpret these: they are both for the same child belonging to one of these sets of parents but misrecorded once, or each set of parents had a son Silas and we are missing one birth record and one death record.
Instead the various Graves Genealogies, presumably blindly copying from the oldest Source:Graves, John Card. Genealogy of the Graves Family in America, which gives both these events to Noah despite the birth saying Jonathan, and by all appearances, making up a birth date for Jonathan's son Silas that is not in evidence in the records.
Because the events are so close, they probably belong to the same parents. For each couple to have a son Silas we have to assume two omissions versus only one misrecording possibly explained by the death record of Noah's son two lines up. Because Jonathan reuses the name later, this child probably belongs to him.]
