Obit--Sidney Charles Wolf--”Sidney Charles Wolf, son of Ed and Flora Murphy Wolf, was born at Astoria, IL, February 14, 1885, and passed away at the Guthrie County Hospital, March 10, 1969, at the age of 84 years and 24 days. He spent his early childhood in and near Macomb and Littleton IL. At he age of fifteen he came with his parents to IA. They came by covered wagon and settled at Bear Grove, IA. He attended public school in Bear Grove twp. On May 10, 1910, he was united in marriage to Dora Sheeder and moved to a farm in Bear Grove Township. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters. Sid spent his life farming. He lived on farms within a radius of three miles of his first home in IA. He lived on his present farm for 34 years. He was director of the Bear Grove and Baker township schools and for many years and also served as lineman and later president of the telephone company at North Branch. He and his wife Dora celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 4, 1968. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and one daughter, Bonnie. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Dora; three sons, John and Clarence of Guthrie Center and William of Des Moines, three daughters, Bernie of Jefferson, Bessie of Madrid, and Bernice of Guthrie Center; three sisters Mrs. Sylvia Shaefer of Stuart, Mrs. Margaret Moor and Mrs. Hollis Heise of Guthrie Center; and thirteen grandchildren.
