    Evan Anflick has posted Sidney's birthdate as "Jan. 5, 1915". Yet Louis Anflick's petition for naturalization lists Sidney's (identified there as "Sigmund") birthday to be "Jan 5, 1913". Louis's petition for naturalization is generally quite awful at identifying birth years, but relatively accurate at identifying birth days. For example, where Louis's petition identifies his son Samuel's birthday as "Feb 11, 1911", birth records have revealed Samuel's true birthdate to be February 12, 1902. I found Sam's birth record by searching for February biths in the year that Samuel's census records suggested he was born, namely 1902. The census was similarly helpful for finding Edith Anflick's 1903 birth record, which the petition incorrectly placed in the year 1908.



    Sidney Anflick's 1920 census record lists him as being age 7 at that time, suggesting that he was born in 1913. Louis's petition, unreliable as it is, corroborates. Sidney's grave marker, however, indicates that he was born in 1915, and Evan Anflick indicates as much on the <a href="http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSmid=46780300&GRid=22127386&" target="_blank">Find-A-Grave profile</a> that he made for Sidney. For the time being, I will stick to the date indicated by the records made closest in time to Sidney's birth.
