Rosa Etta Ray, the daughter of George Washington & Mary Ann Dickson Ray granddaughter of Sibyl Colvard (b. 3-21-1803) & John Dickson great granddaughter of Col. Jessie Ray who had been given a grant of 17,000 acres in Wilkes Co. part of which later became Ashe Co. William Thomas & Rosa Etta Ray had 4 children Anna Colvard

It is probable that Sibyl COLVARD and Peyton COLVARD are siblings or at least cousins. </b>
