Obituary copied from her Find-a-Grave memorial page: Published in Peoria Journal Star on March 3, 2011: PEKIN, IL - Shirlie B. Jackson, 88, of 1520 El Camino Drive passed away at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Pekin Hospital.

Born March 15, 1922, in Groveland to Fred and Ethel (Sewell) Kohtz, she married Clarence "Jack" Jackson on March 1, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 21, 2003, in Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Daryl P. Jackson; two brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, Jeffery P. Jackson of Pekin; one daughter, Patricia (Howard) Proehl of Pekin; four granddaughters, Laura (Daryl) Dagit, Kelley (Rick) Ward, Lisa Scotti and Stacie (the Rev. Chad) Kendall; four grandsons, Drew Jackson, Alexander Jackson, Hayden Jackson and Morgan Jackson; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Billie Jackson of Marquette Heights.

She was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she was a choir member, Sunday school teacher and a former member of the Couples Club.

Shirlie worked as a hairdresser out of her home for 12 years. She also had been a Cub Scouts den mother for three years. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
