The Rev. Shelby Woodrow Woods, 93, of Conway died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006. He was born Dec. 26, 1912, at Byron, a son of Dr. Owen Shelby and Cornelia (Foust) Woods. He attended Arkansas College and Perkins School of Theology. He was a United Methodist minister for 67 years in the North Arkansas Conference serving charges at Altus, Moorefield, Weldon, Kibler, Alpena, Elm Springs, Decatur, Plainview, Marshall, Huntsville, Quitman, Shiloh-Paragould, Lincoln, Green Forest, Asbury-Batesville, Oppelo, and Houston, retiring in 1979 in Conway. Following retirement, he served Oakland and Centerville and taught the Pathfinders Sunday School class at Wesley United Methodist Church in Conway. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lora (Teeter) Woods; three children, Katala Sisco of Clinton, Don Woods of Mau-melle, and Sandra Woods of Conway; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with Dr. Joel Cooper and the Rev. Clayton Bulice officiating. Burial was at Crestlawn Memorial Park by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or a United Methodist Church of your choice.
