Sharon Kottman

Funeral services for Sharon Kottman were held Thursday, June 19, 1997, at 1:00 pm in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, with the Rev. Terry D. Hudson officiating. Acolytes were Travis Torkelson and Danny Torkelson with music provided by organist Mrs. Connie Halvorson. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of arrangements. Burial was held in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Monona.

Sharon Kay Kottman, daughter of Walter and Esther (Meyer) Neuman, was born December 20, 1946, at New Albin, Iowa.

She was baptized in January of 1947 at New Albin and confirmed December 15, 1979, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona. She graduated from Lansing High School.

Sharon was united in marriage to Gary Kottman on September 6, 1969, at the United Church of Christ , New Albin. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Sharon died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter.

Survivors include her husband Gary; one daughter, Jodi and her husband Russel Heins of Monona; two sons, John and Jeremy Kottman of Monona; her mother, Esther, and step-father, Paul Breeser, of New Albin; four grandchildren, Jeff, David and Jessica Heins and Katrina Trappe; one sister, Katherine and her husband Denny Nesheim, of Waukon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Walter Ellefson, Greg Bernhard, Russel Heins, David Hansel, Wayne Meyer and Charlie Bender. Honorary pallbearers were Curt Welch, Wayne Mielke, Stanley Marovets, Roland Linder, Clarence Lucas Jr. and Jim Hinman.
