proprietor of the "Democratic Messenger," Fremont, Sandusky Co., OH; Studied at Heidelberg University, Tiffin, OH, and graduated in 1859 with the first honor in his class; taught school and farmed until 1873, when he engaged in the mercantile business at Tiffin for 2 years; then became connected with the auditor's office in Tiffin for 6 years. On 7 Apr., 1885 in partnership with brother-in-law V.J. Zahm, he purchased the Democratic Messenger.

A member of Seneca Lodge, number 35, I.O.O.F.
