In his written recollections, Judah Asimov wrote that his mother, the eldest, had 2 sisters and 5 brothers. He wrote:
"...my mothers brother Schmerel had (SMICHO OF HEIROO), which means he was ordained to be a rabbi but he preferred to be a businessman."
