  2. ↑ Letter from Doyle Harper to a Mr. Olson, dated 2 Feb 1981, concerning the mother of Sally. Mr. Harper says that Sally was Nelly's daughter, born while Bailis was married to Nelly's sister Betsy. Bailis always acknowledged her as his daughter. Doyle Harper lists her birthyear as 1844, but a headstone at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Union County, GA lists it as 1842.
