"Grandma Sarah West, after being left a widow, lived at her nice comfortable home alone with the negroes, contented, very industrious and strong woman until old age-- over eighty when she died I suppose in 1856. Not tall but little and straight woman. Thier church was the old Primitive Baptist and thier children attended the same church. Most all of their children lived to over fifty years."
