  3. ↑ No birth record for Sarah is found. The only Small birth about the time of her birth is Samuel in 1748, born to Stephen Small and Ruth King. Given that she named her first son Stephen, it seems almost certain these are her parents. Stephen died in Sutton in 1777 but no probate has been found to help confirm this.
