The memorial inscription, from a transcription made by the Women's Institute, reads: In Loving Memory/ of/ SARAH ANN/ The beloved wife of/ WILLIAM SARE/ who died/ Oct 8 1929/ aged 80 years./ "Rock of ages, cleft for me/ Let me hide myself in Thee".
