The Identity of Sarah, Wife of the second Thomas Metcalf of Dedham, Mass.

Mr. Sprague, suggests that Sarah Pigge, d/o Thomas and Mary Pigge, b. Roxbury abt 1638, might be the "Sarah Paige" who married Thomas Metcalf. If so, Sarah was Thomas' step-sister, since widow "Mary Pidge" married Thomas' father Michael Metcalf in 1645.[3]

Mr. Anderson, writing 35 years later, in his Great Migration Begins sketch of Thomas Pidge/Pigge, accepts that identification without qualification.[1]
