  3. Several sources (e.g., Source:Locke, John G. Munroe Genealogy, p. 7; Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement to 1868, p. 452) say Sarah m. (1) 12 Mar or May 1750 Josiah Parks, m. (2) 27 Dec 1753 Elisha Cutler. The first problem is that Sarah married Elisha Cutler as Sarah Munroe, and is named as Sarah Cutler in her father's will of 1766 (Middlesex Probate 15657). Thus, the marriage to Josiah Parks seems doubtful. Then, the only record for Josiah Parks of Concord is actually only an intention dated 12 May 1750 to Sarah Monro (Weston VRs, p. 71).
Josiah Parks appears to be messed up as well. This starts with Source:Bond, Henry. Family Memorials. Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts, Including Waltham and Weston (1855), p. 386. Here Josiah Parks, s/o Josiah Parks, is said to have married 7 Apr 1757 Mary Merriam. The marriage record is found, but this marriage is the unidentified Mary that Bond says the father married as his third wife, not a marriage for the son. The death date given to the son, 1765, belongs to the father as well, as shown by the father's will (Middlesex Probate 16434). Source:Parks, Frank Sylvester. Genealogy of the Parke Families of Massachusetts, p. 52, says the son actually married by 1753 Lydia King of Westfield (date based on birth of first child). Although there is no marriage record, the births of their children are found in Westfield. Indeed the son Josiah Parks wrote his will in 1779 and mentions his "Hon'd Father Josiah Parks of Lincoln in the County of Middlesex Deceased" showing that this last presentation is correct (Hampshire Box 108, file 48).
So if the intention in 1750 has any validity, it would appear the intentions were abandoned, and that no marriage resulted.
