On p. 36, this same birth is given to Robert, citing "Clerk of Courts' Records". As Robert had a daughter Sarah who was married and had a child by 1681 if not sooner (so too old to be born in 1672), and Thomas had a daughter Sarah who was of age in 1691 so born by 1673 not otherwise found if this record is not her, giving this birth to Robert appears to be an error.
The original Reading record does not appear to be online. The Reading town copy says Thomas (right side, about half way down, before Hannah Boutelle) while the Middlesex county copy (p. 30 near bottom, preceding Hannah Bowtell) says Robt. These appear to be the same event as neither record has two births on this same date. One must assume the county copy was miscopied.
