says Stephen Foster married Sarah Blood, but does not identify her birth or parents. The best candidate in Groton is Sarah, d/o Nathaniel Blood and Hannah Shattuck, and she is presumed correct because she named her only son Nathaniel. Several sources (.e.g,

) list her as a child of this family without giving any marriage. Her residence in Groton and her husband's death by 1759 suggests she is the widow Sarah Foster of Groton that became the second wife of Cotton Proctor in 1760.
