  2.   Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. Foster Genealogy says Stephen Foster married Sarah Blood, but does not identify her birth or parents. The best candidate in Groton is Sarah, d/o Nathaniel Blood and Hannah Shattuck, and she is presumed correct because she named her only son Nathaniel. Several sources (.e.g, Source:Butler, Caleb. History of the Town of Groton, Including Pepperell and Shirley, from the First Grant of Groton Plantation in 1655, Source:Shattuck, Lemuel. Memorials of the Descendants of William Shattuck : The Progenitor of the Families in America That Have Borne His Name) list her as a child of this family without giving any marriage. Her residence in Groton and her husband's death by 1759 suggests she is the widow Sarah Foster of Groton that became the second wife of Cotton Proctor in 1760.
